Hi Everyone,

For August, we will shift from poetry to philosophy with a reading of Plato's Laches.  This relatively short dialogue focuses on the concept of "courage" (although the Greek word ἀνδρεία is perhaps closer to "manliness"), but also touches larger questions of virtue, character, and whether these things can be taught.  You can find the classic Benjamin Jowett translation for free here, although you are welcome to read any edition you may happen to have.

Our meeting will take place Saturday, August 22 at 3:00pm eastern.  As usual, you can use the Teams info below.

Our discussion is open to all.  Please do share this event with any of your friends who may be interested in Memoria College.
